In some cases they will totally over price this type of training and feel that it is out of there reach. Then there are others who will under price it and are quite disappointed when they start to check it out.
The only way that you can be sure of the pricing when it comes to learning how to fly is by getting quotes. The best thing to do is check out the schools in your area that teach this and go and find out exactly what they offer and what you are going to get for this amount of money.
If you are going to go and get quotes it’s a good idea to do some research first as to what the different types of pilot programs are all about. This way you will be able to ask the proper questions and get the answers that you are going to need.
It’s important to remember that most often aside from the quote that you are going to have other costs involved as well. These are most often not covered when you are given your quote. A good example of this is that you will need a medical examination and you will have to pay for this yourself. Then there are going to be pieces of equipment that you will have to buy that will be your own. And then there’s all the books that you’re going to need and the manuals to learn from.
When individuals that are thinking of going pilot training school find out that there are some equipment purchases involved, they panic and feel that they will not be able to afford this. It has to be pointed out that these are not big pieces of equipment, and they do add up in cost but usually it’s no more then 300$.
They will need a plotter, which is for navigation a log book will be required and an instrument for testing fuel levels is a another piece these are just a few of the small pieces of equipment that will be required what you will probably find is that the school you are attending has these kits pre made. So you will end up paying a flat cost. This is the better way of buying your equipment as you will know you will have everything that you’ll need.
You will also end up having to pay for some of the various tests these can be around 150$ and this is usually your first written test. When it comes to paying the medical cost for your examination this will depend on how much the doctor wants to charge. Any doctor that is performing this type of examination has to be approved by the FAA so the prices will pretty well be all around the same.
